Billing, Cancellation & Data Retention Policy
This policy explains how KinPilot household subscriptions, recurring billing, usage allowances, failed payments, cancellation and deletion eligibility work.

Household subscription and unlimited members
A KinPilot subscription belongs to one Household/Family, never to an individual member or seat. The KinPilot Family plan may include unlimited household login members and profiles. One designated billing OWNER manages payment and may transfer billing responsibility to another active household login member; that member becomes an OWNER.
Pricing and recurring renewal
KinPilot Family is offered monthly or yearly. The price and currency shown at Checkout are the price you authorize for that subscription. Unless cancelled, paid subscriptions automatically renew at the selected billing interval through the applicable billing provider (Stripe on the web or Apple In-App Purchase on iOS). Any material price change for an existing subscription will be communicated as required by applicable law before it takes effect.
Payment processing
Stripe processes web card payments. Apple processes iOS In-App Purchase subscriptions. KinPilot stores only the provider identifiers and billing status needed to operate the service and does not store full card numbers. Stripe subscriptions are managed in the Stripe Customer Portal; Apple subscriptions are purchased, restored and managed with StoreKit/App Store controls.
Included storage and Pilot AI usage
The KinPilot Family launch plan includes 25 GB of household storage and a monthly Pilot AI allowance. Household members and normal product functionality are not metered by seat. Storage and Pilot AI consumption are measured at the Household level. At 100% of an included allowance, KinPilot pauses new activity that would consume that allowance until usage is reduced or the allowance resets, as applicable. KinPilot does not automatically charge storage or AI overage fees at launch. Any future paid overage or add-on will require clear disclosure and an affirmative purchase or opt-in.
Trial
KinPilot may offer a 30-day Family trial. A trial may be started without a payment card where the product indicates this. Trial eligibility is limited and may be offered once per Household. If no paid subscription is started, the Household may return to the then-current Free plan at the end of the trial. Data already stored is not automatically deleted merely because a trial ends.
Failed payments and billing recovery
For Stripe subscriptions, an unpaid renewal enters KinPilot’s 30-day payment grace period before normal Household access may be suspended. Apple subscriptions follow the billing-retry/grace and verified expiration state reported by the App Store; KinPilot does not replace Apple’s billing timeline with its Stripe grace period. Household data and files are not deleted because of non-payment. Successful payment recovery or a verified Apple renewal restores or maintains access as applicable.
Cancellation and 90-day retention
Stripe subscriptions can be cancelled in the Stripe Customer Portal and Apple subscriptions can be managed or cancelled with the App Store subscription controls available from KinPilot on iOS. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, service continues through the paid period already authorized. After service ends, KinPilot retains Household data for 90 days. During this retention period the data is not automatically deleted.
Deletion after retention
After the 90-day retention period, the Household becomes eligible for permanent deletion. Eligibility does not cause automatic deletion. An authorized KinPilot administrator must review and explicitly approve deletion, and a separate strongly confirmed action is required to execute permanent deletion. Legal holds, disputes, fraud, chargebacks, security incidents or regulatory obligations may delay deletion when required.
Administrative safeguards
Billing ownership transfers, subscription state changes, Stripe webhook events, suspension, restoration, cancellation, deletion eligibility, deletion approval and deletion execution are auditable events. Permanent deletion includes Household database records and governed Household object-storage data.
Legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable consumer, privacy, payment or data-protection rights. Jurisdiction-specific requirements may override or supplement these rules.
